1. Feature Definition

The Surge Protection Device (SPD) is a key protective device used in low-voltage AC distribution systems or DC photovoltaic systems to suppress lightning-induced surge voltages and operational overvoltages. It is connected to the system in parallel to discharge the overvoltage energy to the ground, ensuring the insulation safety of the back-end equipment.

2. System Adaptation Requirements

Ac System: 
  1. Applicable to low-voltage distribution networks with grounding forms such as TN-S/TT/IT (e.g. 385/690V).
DC System: 
  1. Specifically designed for photovoltaic arrays (typical voltage levels such as 1000V/1500V DC), it needs to withstand high continuous DC operating voltage (Uc).

3. Installation Location Specification

AC:
  1. First-level protection (Type 1/2 SPD) for the main distribution box (at the entrance end)
  2. Second-level protection (Type 2 SPD) of the sub-distribution cabinet.
DC:
  1. Photovoltaic string output end (close to the solar panel)
  2. Inverter DC input side (needs to match the polarity of the photovoltaic system).

4. Protection Coordination Requirements

Breaking device:
