1. Feature Definition
The Surge Protection Device (SPD) is a key protective device used in low-voltage AC distribution systems or DC photovoltaic systems to suppress lightning-induced surge voltages and operational overvoltages. It is connected to the system in parallel to discharge the overvoltage energy to the ground, ensuring the insulation safety of the back-end equipment.
2. System Adaptation Requirements
Ac System:
- Applicable to low-voltage distribution networks with grounding forms such as TN-S/TT/IT (e.g. 385/690V).
DC System:
- Specifically designed for photovoltaic arrays (typical voltage levels such as 1000V/1500V DC), it needs to withstand high continuous DC operating voltage (Uc).
